Planning for a Secure Future: Cyber Girls Ambassador Program
October 11, 2019
Herjavec Group is proud to announce our partnership with Ontario Tech University’s Cyber Girls Ambassador Program, which brings together female students between 11 and 14 years of age who are keen to learn about the world of cybersecurity. Through an environment of discovery, hands-on experience, coaching, and fun, students will gain a broad understanding of cybersecurity, including digital citizenship, coding, and critical thinking.
“The exciting aspect of this program is the conceptual learning that comes into real-life focus, through mentorship by women in various information technology careers,” explains Sheila Rhodes, Assistant Teaching Professor, Faculty of Education.
Next week during Cybersecurity Awareness Month, team members from Herjavec Group will be running sessions for the Cyber Girls Ambassador Program students at Ontario Tech University. Topics will include security awareness, password protection, digital identities on social media, phishing attacks, and pattern recognition.
We are excited to encourage the next generation of security experts and spark an interest in this exciting field.
This program is taking bold steps forward, to prepare young girls to understand their full potential, so they may aspire to rewarding careers in online safety and security in the future.
Herjavec Group is proud to be engaged in the Cyber Girls Ambassador Program, alongside outstanding partners Sun Life Financial, Bank of Montreal and Scotiabank.
