Herjavec Group Celebrates International Women’s Day with a Women in Tech Summit

March 8, 2018

March 8 is widely recognized as International Women’s Day, a global initiative that celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Now in its 117th year, International Women’s Day aims to bridge the gap between men and women and drive the movement for women’s rights.

Although there are increasingly more programs that encourage interest in the STEM field for young girls, women currently comprise approximately 10% of the cybersecurity workforce. At Herjavec Group, we celebrated International Women’s Day by hosting a Women in Tech Summit for our internal staff.

Women make up approximately 25% of Herjavec Group’s global staff and we are proud to confirm over 40% of our people leaders and executive team members.

We invited a cross-section of these leaders, including Melissa Zicopula (VP Managed Services), Manjit Bagri (VP Financial Planning & Analysis), Jill McClay (Director HR), and Erin McLean (SVP Marketing and Customer Success) to share their personal and professional experiences around advancing their careers in cybersecurity.

In the coming weeks, we will be elevating the stories of these strong females through our corporate website and social media. Let’s continue the important conversation all year long around the achievements of women, particularly in cybersecurity!
