CNBC: Robert Herjavec on the SolarWinds Cyber Hack

December 24, 2020

Herjavec Group CEO & Founder Robert Herjavec joined CNBC’s “Squawk Alley”  to share his insights on the SolarWinds breach and some considerations for enterprises and government as they prepare their cybersecurity strategies for 2021.

Robert discusses the alarmingly sophisticated level of the SolarWinds cyber-attack, the cybersecurity diligence that enterprises and individuals alike are responsible for to protect sensitive data, and the tremendous growth he predicts in cybersecurity technology.

In regards to cybersecurity strategies that focus on geographical control, rather than focusing on attack vectors and technologies in general, Robert aptly points out that these solutions are like putting "your finger in the dike to stop the flood." Instead, he suggests adapting with the inevitable progress we are seeing and protecting the entire cybersecurity infrastructure by increasing capacity and resources within organizations.

“There is no light switch in cybersecurity. You don’t buy a managed service and are immediately secure - it’s a process.”
