
BRAK was eventually sold to AT&T where Mr. Herjavec stayed for a period of time as VP of Internet based security. Mr. Herjavec was then brought on as Worldwide VP of Sales for publicly held (NASDAQ) RAMP Networks – one of the early developers of VPN technology. RAMP was acquired by Nokia in an all cash $ 225 million transaction.
After a three year hiatus, Mr. Herjavec went on to found The Herjavec Group (THG) which has in five short years become the country’s largest security integrator – ranked by Branham as one of the country’s top security companies, and Profit as one of the country’s fastest growing companies (two years in row). THG continues to expand with offices in Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, Toronto and Calgary. The company has recently expanded into the U.S. with an acquisition in New York.
Sean Higgins, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of The Herjavec Group, is widely recognized as one of the foremost security experts in North America, with more than 20 years of IT industry experience.
Sean was originally a member of BRAK Systems’ technology team, helping to guide the company’s network and security strategies. After BRAK’s acquisition by AT&T Canada, Sean joined AT&T Canada as the Director of Security Services and directed a staff of over 50 people in design, implementation, and management of complex security solutions.
Upon leaving AT&T in 2003, Sean co-founded The Herjavec Group, using his engineering expertise to spear-head the startup's world class technology systems. Sean is certified in a breadth of security products sold by The Herjavec Group and is a certified instructor for CheckPoint, Blue Coat, and McAfee Web Gateway technologies. Sean's extensive knowledge base has granted him the opportunity to contribute to Check Point's R70 CCSE course and give expert testimony in e-security related cases.
Sean holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics from Case Western Reserve University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Purdue University.
George Frempong, Co-Founder and Vice President of Sales at The Herjavec Group, has nearly ten years of sales experience in the Canadian networking security industry. George started his IT career with BRAK Systems in 1997 as a top security solutions sales representative.
When BRAK was sold to AT&T Canada in 2000, George worked with AT&Ts Internet and eBusiness division as a senior account executive. After leaving AT&T Canada, George brought his sales and technology skills to Deloitte & Touche, where he was responsible for the sale of complex security networks and provided prominent Canadian organizations with comprehensive security solutions.
In 2003, George co-founded The Herjavec Group, where he has sustained his executive sales track-record, bringing high-level security solutions to many notable corporations across a variety of industries.
John Moy, Director of Finance at The Herjavec Group, not only brings accredited financial knowledge to the position, but also has over 10 years of experience working in the IT industry.
After graduating from York University’s business school (now the Schulich School of Business) with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, John earned his CA designation, and completed his internship with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers).
Robert Potvin, Vice-president – Eastern Canada, has 20 years of experience in the IT industry, and has focused on IT Security for the last 8 years. Fully bilingual, he has presented at many conferences locally and abroad, covering the field of Information Security.
Prior to joining The Herjavec Group, Robert managed the security consulting group at Above Security and at Deloitte & Touche. He was also the Security Officer at Domtar, based in Montreal.
Robert achieved his CISSP designation from (ISC)2 in 2004, and he holds a SECRET clearance from the Canadian Federal Government.
For more than twenty-five years Pierre has cultivated a strong background in the Canadian and International I.T. community and he brings those years of experience to The Herjavec Group as VP, Technology.
Pierre has managed projects ranging from large systems integration at Hewlett Packard to LAN-based client/server solutions to advanced electronic client payroll support for the National Bank of Canada. He has also overseen the design of several enterprise applications, from agent scripting tools to Help-Desk automation.
Furthermore, Pierre has led large I.T. departments of more than 180 staff, developing enterprise systems integration and .Net-based solutions in the customer service delivery space. His previous roles as Canadian CTO at SITEL, Minacs and as CTO at a large business process outsourcer based in Bangalore, India have strengthened the industry expertise and management experience he brings to THG.
